In this blog post, I will look at the eighth houses of the constitution and Sibly charts for the USA. I will first cover the constitution chart.
The eight house in the chart of a nation holds things like power resources; taxes; policies toward sex, death, and the occult; financial relations with other countries; the finances of allies and open enemies; payouts by the government; and insurance companies, among other things. It basically refers to joint resources, as in a natal or business chart.
The Constitution Chart
In the constitution chart, the eighth house has the first degree of Cancer on the cusp. With Cancer on the cusp, we would approach eighth house matters, such as insurance companies or policy toward the occult, with a protective, caring attitude. With the first degree on the cusp, we would be at the beginning of dealing with eighth house matters carefully. As a country, we would initiate new policies at an emotional level with regard to things like sex, death, and taxes; or develop power in a liquid way.
The eighth house contains Jupiter in Cancer and Uranus in Leo. Since Cancer is ruled by the Moon, the Moon is the ruler of the eighth house. The Moon was in the seventh house in Gemini in the constitution chart.
Jupiter in the Eighth House
Jupiter in the eighth house in Cancer might indicate, for a nation, that we would expand in the area of power and control – in a fluid way and impulsively. Also, expanding would be in the west-south-west direction (from New York City).
The Moon was – to the minute – in a waning semisquare to Jupiter. Jupiter made no other of the very close aspects that I use. The waning semisquare might indicate that irritation is generated when we combine emoting and trusting, that a cycle is closing between caring and expanding.
Uranus in the Eighth House
Uranus in the eighth house in Leo in the chart of a nation might indicate that we would scintillate in the area of solar power. We might proudly radicalise our policies toward sex, death, and taxes. Gangsters being under the rulership of the eighth house, we might have a problem with gangsters electrifying egotistical crime.
Chiron in the seventh house in Gemini was in a waning semisquare to Uranus. Juno in Libra and Vesta in Scorpio, both in the eleventh house, were in waxing squares to Uranus. The Scorpio Ascendant was in a waxing trine to Uranus. The North Node in the first house in Sagittarius was in a waning (the progress of the nodes through the chart is backward) trine and the South Node in the seventh house in Gemini was in a waxing sextile to Uranus. With a mix of active and easy aspects, our sparkling, radicalising, and electrifying would be evoked by a mixture of struggle and ease.
Chiron in a waning semisquare to Uranus might indicate that there is energy there for laboring hard in closing in on radicalising our joint finances. Juno and Vesta, together in different signs, in a waxing square to Uranus might indicate that we are building foundations for wifing and sistering coming out of radicalising our attitudes toward sex and support.
The Scorpio ascendant in a waxing trine to Uranus might indicate our physical appearance is created easily out of electrifying (or radicalising) our country’s power. The North Node in Sagittarius in a waning trine to Uranus and the South Node in Gemini in a waxing sextile to Uranus might indicate there is an easy and expansive flow of energy between good timing and our radicalising our joint resources, while, with regard to poor timing and looking backward, we are moving out into opportunities with regard to radicalising our joint resources.
The Moon Ruling the Eighth House
The Moon in the seventh house in Gemini, ruling the eighth house, might indicate that we deal with power and control when we make peace and war with our public emoting. The Moon makes one aspect of the close aspects that I am using, an exact semisquare to Jupiter in the eighth house, which was covered above. We might find ourselves a bit excessive in our emoting, but there is not a lot of activity behind our eighth house matters.
The Sibly Chart
In the Sibly chart, the eighth house has Cancer on the cusp. As with the constitution chart, Cancer on the cusp would indicate an emotional, initiating energy behind our eighth house matters. The house contains Mercury and the Part of Fortune in Cancer and the North Node in Leo. The ruler of the house, the Moon, was in the third house in Aquarius.
Mercury in the Eighth House
Mercury in the eighth house in Cancer might indicate that when we communicate as a nation we would focus protectively on our joint resources. Or that we would drive because of our environmental power.
Mercury was in a waxing semisquare to Uranus in the sixth house in Gemini. Mercury was in a waning sextile to Neptune in the ninth house in Virgo. Mercury was in a waxing sesquiquadrate to Ceres in the third house in Pisces. Mercury and the Part of Fortune were conjunct, with the Part of Fortune ahead of Mercury.
Mercury in the waxing semisquare to Uranus might indicate our reaching out to protectively communicate our joint financial resources based on radicalising the daily labours of the country. Mercury in the waning sextile to Neptune might indicate achieving something through opportunities to protectively communicating our joint finances based on our idealizing our freedom and beliefs in an analytical way.
Mercury in the waxing sesquiquadrate to Ceres might indicate energy available to cross the t’s and dot the i’s when protectively communicating our joint finances based on unconditional cycling of ideas. Mercury conjunct the Part of Fortune might indicate that as a nation, we are happiest when we protectively communicating our joint resources.
The Part of Fortune in the Eighth House
The Part of Fortune in the eighth house in Cancer might indicate the our happiness and fortune would come out of being protective and environmentally conscious about our joint resources; our policies toward sex, the occult, and the criminal underworld; and in our investigations and joint research; among other things. The Part of Fortune was conjunct (and departing from) Mercury, as noted above, approaching the opposition to Pluto in the second house in Capricorn, and in a waxing inconjunct to Pallas in the third house in Aquarius – of the very small aspects that I am using.
The Part of Fortune approaching the opposition to Pluto might indicate that we would be bringing into awareness our fortune in our joint patriotic wealth in relation to our being compulsive about our political values and governmental money. The Part of Fortune in the waxing inconjunct to Pallas might indicate some societal anxiety between putting all our ducks in a row patriotically with regard to fortune and women professing with egalitarian ideas.
The North Node in the Eighth House
The North Node in the eighth house in Leo might indicate that we are moving toward solar power, proud joint financial institutions, creative taxes, among other eighth house things. We would have good timing with regard to eighth house matters.
The North Node was in a waning semisquare to Neptune in the ninth house in Virgo and in a waxing semisquare to Mars in the seventh house in Gemini. This puts the North Node at the midpoint of Mars and Neptune. We would grow from sneak attacks and the attacks would be irritating and would make us popular and get us all on the same page.
Since the South Node is opposite the North Node, the nodes, Mars, and Neptune form an active, kite-like formation. In moving from careful popularity to fearful unpopularity, and vice versa, there would be tension, which might come from critically idealizing our believes and from battling verbally with our enemies and allies, for one interpretation.
The Moon Ruling the Eighth House
The ruler of the eighth house, the Moon, in the third house in Aquarius might indicate that protecting our radical ideas would be the motivation behind our careful approach to joint resources, as well as other eighth house matters. The Moon only made one aspect, of the very close aspects that I use – a conjunction to Pallas in the third house in Aquarius. The conjunction is an active aspect, putting some energy behind the eighth house.
The Moon departing from the conjunction to Pallas might indicate, among other things, that the public emoting is tied up with women professing. Both the emoting and professing are done radically or electronically in the area of communications, cars, and primary schools, among other things.
