USA Chart Comparison: The Tenth House

The tenth house in any chart is the most public part of the chart.  Whatever is in the tenth house is highly visible.  In the chart of a nation, the tenth house contains the government, the reputation of the country, the chief executive, and big business and industry, among other things.  In looking at the charts, I will start with the Sibly chart, then go to the constitution chart.

The Sibly Chart

The Sibly chart has Libra on the tenth house cusp.  With Libra on the tenth house cusp, we would be seen as fair, just, balanced, beautiful, and social, on the positive side.  On the negative side, we might be seen as wishy-washy, lazy, or superficial.  Our government would be intellectual.  Our presidents would use charm and conciliation to govern.

The house contains the points Saturn and Juno, both in Libra.  Libra covers the entire house.  The ruler of Libra, Vulcan (The traditional ruler of Libra is Venus.  I, and only I as far as I know, use the point I call Vulcan as the ruler of Libra.  The point is the mean over the shortest arc of the longitudes of the four major asteroids.  I have made an ephemeris for Vulcan from 1900 to 2050 available at http://vanwardstat.com/Vulcan%201900%20to%202050%20wdec.pdf or http://vanwardstat.com/Vulcan%201900%20to%202050%20wdec.rtf.). In the Sibly chart, Vulcan was in the second house in Aquarius.

Saturn in the Tenth

Saturn in the tenth house in Libra is strong, since Saturn is the exalted ruler of Libra and the accidental ruler of the tenth house.  The placement might indicate that we govern in a balanced way through our government.  Or, that our president fears he or she lacks socially.  Or, that we take seriously our reputation as a fair country.

Saturn was making one aspect of the close aspects that I am using, a waning square from the Sun in the seventh house in Cancer.  The square is an active aspect, putting energy behind Saturn.  Since the square was a waning square, we would be achieving something by leading in the area of war and peace out of our president’s governing.

Juno in the Tenth
Juno in the tenth house in Libra might indicate any tendency that we would have toward being maritally  jealous would be very visible.  We might have a drive to ‘marry’ for peaceful purposes at the governmental level.

Juno made four aspects of the close aspects that I am using.  Mars was in a waning trine to Juno from the seventh house in Gemini.  Juno was in a trine to Vulcan in the second house in Aquarius.  Juno was in an opposition to Chiron in the fourth house in Aries.  Juno was inconjunct Vesta in the fifth house in Taurus.  These are not particularly active aspects, indicating ease, reflection, and anxiety.

Mars in a waning trine to Juno might indicate that getting verbally angry in our marriages and lazily jealous of our reputation at the same time would be an easy achievement in our country.  Juno in a trine to Vulcan might indicate an easy flow of energy between being lazily jealous of our reputation and harmonizing radically our money.  Juno opposite Chiron might indicate a conflict between being lazily jealous of our reputation and energetically working hard in our homeland.  Juno inconjunct Vesta might indicate that combining being lazily jealous of our reputation with devoting ourselves practically to our games would bring about a societal anxiety.

Vulcan Ruling the Tenth
Vulcan, ruler of the 10th house, in the second house in Aquarius might indicate that our government and reputation would have come out of balancing radical values.  Or that we would develop a reputation out of loving our scintillating senses.  Or that our president would be motivated to charm bankers electronically.

The Vulcan aspects were covered in the post on the second house.  The aspects are a waning sextile to Chiron in the fourth house in Aries, a square to Vesta in the fifth house in Taurus, Venus in a waxing sesquiquadrate from the seventh house and Cancer, an inconjunct to the mean Lilith in the ninth house in Virgo, and a trine to Juno in the tenth house in Libra.  So there are a lot of influences and a mix of influences affecting Vulcan, and thus the tenth house.  The influences are a mix of easy and energetic influences, including one edgy yod – covered in the last post, under the mean Lilith.

The Constitution Chart

In the constitution chart, Virgo is on the tenth house cusp.  Virgo on the tenth house cusp might indicate a reputation as a clean, discriminating, reasonable, practical country.  Our president would be service oriented.  We might expect him or her to be analytical.  Our government would be orderly and sensible.

Chiron Ruling the Tenth
There are none of the points that I am using are in the house.  The ruler of Virgo, and as such the ruler of the tenth house, is Chiron (I use Chiron as the ruler of Virgo – as do some others, rather than the traditional Mercury.), which was in the seventh house in Gemini in the constitution chart.  With the ruler of the tenth house in the seventh house in Gemini, our government, and how it works, would come out of an intellectual approach to fairness, war, peace, marriage and divorce, enemies, justice, and allies, among other things.  Our government would be the result of verbal interchanges and reflections.

Chiron made five aspects – of the close aspects that I am using; a square to the Sun, Saturn, Nadir conjunction in Pisces, a semisquare to Uranus in the eighth house in Leo, and a sesquiquadrate to Vesta in the eleventh house in Scorpio.  These aspects were covered in the post on the seventh house.  These are all active aspects, indicating that there is a lot of active energy behind the tenth house even if the house does not contain any of the points that I am using.
