USA Chart Comparison: The Twelfth House

The twelfth house of a national chart contains such things as secret enemies of the country; that which goes on behind the scenes in the country; places of confinement such as hospitals, jails, monasteries, and convents; that which is hidden; and the ideals of a country, among other things.  In looking at the twelfth house, I will start with the constitution chart, then look at the Sibly chart.

The Constitution Chart

Scorpio on the Twelfth House Cusp

In the constitution chart, the twelfth house had Scorpio on the cusp, as does the first house.  Since Scorpio is on both the twelfth house and the first house, twelfth house affairs must be dealt with before first house affairs can occur.  For example, we would have to deal with our secret enemies before we could develop an awareness of ourselves.

Scorpio is an intense, secretive, and probing sign.  With Scorpio on the twelfth house cusp, we might approach our secret enemies probingly.  Or, we might express our ideals intensely.  The twelfth house contained only one point of the points that I use, Vulcan (which I, and only I, use as far as I know – see the blog on the second house for more information on Vulcan.).  Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, was in the third house in Aquarius.

Vulcan in the Twelfth

Vulcan in the twelfth house in Scorpio might indicate that, as a nation, we might make war or peace behind the scenes cruelly.  Or that we might love our courageous ideals.  Or that we might secretively balance our compassion and understanding.

Vulcan was making one aspect of the close aspects that I am using, Mars in the third house in Aquarius was in a waxing square to Vulcan.  Mars in a waxing square to Vulcan might indicate struggling to put down a foundation for interacting powerfully behind the scenes through asserting ourselves in an egalitarian way in the area of our communications.

Pluto Ruling the Twelfth House

Pluto, as ruler of the twelfth house and in the third house and Aquarius, might indicate that we use electrical communications in our approach to secret enemies.  Or, that behind our prisons are unusual ideas.  Or, that our ideals come from radical teachers.

Pluto made no aspects of the close aspects that I am using.  So, there would not be a lot of triggers pushing twelfth house matters under the constitution chart.

The Sibly Chart

Scorpio on the Twelfth House Cusp

In the Sibly chart, Scorpio is on the twelfth house and Sagittarius is on the first house, so the two houses are not linked by sign, like the two are in the constitution chart.  However, possibly, Scorpio was also on the eleventh house cusp.  If so, we would have to make friends and set goals before dealing with our secret enemies and developing our institutions of compassion and understanding.  There were none of the points that I am using in the twelfth house in the Sibly chart.  See the section on the constitution chart in this post for a description of Scorpio on the twelfth house.

Pluto Ruling the Twelfth House

Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio, was in the second house in Capricorn.  With the ruler of the twelfth house in the second house in Capricorn, we might expect to make secret enemies as a result of stingy finances.  Or, we might put people in prison out of strict values.  Or, we might display compassion with serious money.

Pluto was making three aspects of the close aspects that I am using; an opposition to the Part of Fortune in the eighth house in Cancer; a semisquare to the Sagittarius Ascendant; and a sequiquadrate to the Gemini Descendent.  The aspects were covered in the last post and in the post on the second house.  The three aspects are active aspects and would put some energy into the twelfth house.  We might find some conflict between controlling our money and the happiness we take in our joint resources, at the same time as a sense of irritation and frustration with our controlling our money when we consider our appearance and reflections.

USA Chart Comparison: The Eleventh House

The eleventh house of the chart of a nation contains the nations friendly to the nation, the country’s aspirations, political structures and affairs at all levels of the nation’s governments, and the government’s money, among other things.  I will start by looking at the eleventh house in the constitution chart, then the Sibly chart.

The Constitution Chart

The constitution chart has Libra on the eleventh house cusp.  With Libra on the cusp, we would tend to be egalitarian in our political structures and affairs, also peace seeking and fair.  Our aspirations would be just and mathematical.  Our approach to friendship with other nations would be diplomatic and balanced.  Our government’s approach to its money might be indecisive.

There were three of the points that I am using in the eleventh house in the constitution chart, Neptune, Juno, and Vesta.  Neptune and Juno were in Libra and Vesta was in Scorpio.  The ruler of Libra, and as such the eleventh house, was Vulcan (I use the point I call Vulcan as the ruler of Libra rather than using Venus, the traditional ruler.  As far as I know, I am the only person to use Vulcan.  See the last post for more information.).  In the constitution chart, Vulcan was in the twelfth house in Scorpio.

Neptune

Neptune in the eleventh house in Libra might indicate that, as a nation, we would idealize our just aspirations.  Or that we would socially confuse nations that are friends.  Or that we would sacrifice, in a balanced way, our government’s money.

Mercury was making a waxing inconjunct to Neptune from the fourth house and Pisces.  Venus was in a waxing trine to Neptune from the third house and Aquarius.  Ceres was in a waxing sextile to Neptune from the first house and Sagittarius.  Lilith was trine Neptune from the third house in Aquarius.  The Part of Fortune was in a waning semisquare to Neptune from the ninth house and Virgo.  Only the semisquare is an active aspect.  There is a lot of ease, a small amount of insecurity, and a small amount of energy associated with our idealizing, understanding, and sorrowing.

The Mercury/Neptune aspect might indicate anxiety being generated by communicating patriotism, coming out of idealizing hopes, dreams, and aspirations, in an attempt to put things in order.  The Venus/Neptune aspect might indicate luck and ease through valuing ideas, coming out of idealizing hopes, dreams, and aspirations, in an attempt to form foundations.

The Ceres/Neptune sextile might indicate opportunities through nurturing and releasing our appearance, coming out of idealizing hopes, dreams, and aspirations, in the process of gathering stuff to move forward.  The Lilith/Neptune trine might indicate ease and luck through our collective feministing about our ideas, coming out of idealizing hopes, dreams, and aspirations.  The Part of Fortune in a waning semisquare to Neptune might indicate energy available for finding happiness in our beliefs, coming out of idealizing hopes, dreams, and aspirations.

Juno and Vesta

Juno in the eleventh house in Libra might indicate we would act on jealousy of our beautiful hopes, dreams, and wishes.  Or of cultured friendly nations.  Or of social political processes.  Juno was making seven aspects of the close aspects that I am using.

Juno was in a sesquiquadrate to the Sun/Saturn/Nadir conjunction, waxing from the Sun and Nadir and waning to Saturn. The Midheaven in Virgo was in a waning semisquare to Juno.  Mars was in a waxing trine to Juno from the third house and Aquarius. Juno was in a waxing square to Uranus in the eighth house in Leo.  Juno was conjunct Vesta in Scorpio, with both in the eleventh house.  Except for the trine to Mars, all of these aspects are active aspects.  There is a lot of energy affecting our acting on  jealousy, plus some luck with the trine.

Vesta in the eleventh house in Scorpio might indicate devoting ourselves intensely to the political process.  Or sistering nations friendly to us, occultly.

Vesta, like Juno, was in a waxing square to Uranus in the eighth in Leo.  As noted above, Vesta and Juno were conjunct.  Vesta was also in a waxing sesquiquadrate to Chiron in the seventh house in Gemini.  And, Vesta was in a waning semisextile to the North Node in first house and Sagittarius and in a waxing inconjunct to the South Node in the seventh house in Gemini.  The aspects are a mix of the active and the insecure, with the emphasis on active.

Juno conjunct Vesta indicates balanced acting on jealousy and intense devoting occur together.  The Juno/Vesta conjunction in a square to Uranus, with Juno and Uranus semisquare the Midheaven and sesquiquadrate the Nadir/Sun conjunction, is a strong aspect pattern, particularly with the Sun involved.  The waxing squares to Uranus might indicate that devoting and acting on jealousy are both a struggle and a foundation when coming out of being intuitive.

The waxing sesquiquadrate from the Sun and the Nadir to Juno might indicate that shining in our homeland comes out of dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s with regard to acting on jealousy.  The aspect gives some tension to be resolved.  The waning semisquare from the Midheaven to Juno might indicate that taking action on jealousy creates a bit of friction with regard to our reputation and that a cycle was closing between acting on jealousy and our reputation, at the time of the birth of our country.

The waning sesquiquadrate from Juno to Saturn might indicate that acting on jealousy would be an act of dissemination with regard to our idealistic governing. There would some irritation energizing the dissemination.  The waxing trine from Mars to Juno might indicate that leading coming out of acting on jealousy is easy for us and is creative in nature.

Vesta in a waxing sesquiquadrate to Chiron in the seventh house in Gemini might indicate that being intensely devoted to our goals would be to dot the i’s and cross the t’s when considered in regard to working hard intellectually for our allies and open enemies.  There might be some agitation associated with being devoted.

Vesta in a waning semisextile to the North Node might indicate that when we intensely devote ourselves to our goals, there would tend to be a growth in our sense of connection and good timing.  A cycle would have been closing between intensely devoting ourselves and that for which we would be popular.  We would have been tying up loose ends with regard to the two.

Vesta in a waxing inconjunct to the South Node might indicate anxiety related to that for which we would have been unpopular, when we devoted ourselves intensely.  Here, we would be crossing the t’s and dotting the i’s when integrating devoting ourselves intensely with our point of disconnection.  We would be approaching fulfillment in the integration of the two, which would happen at the opposition – with the conjunction of Vesta to the North Node.

Vulcan as ruler

Vulcan, the ruler that I use for Libra (see the post on the tenth house for more on Vulcan), and as such the eleventh house in the constitution chart, was in the twelfth house in Scorpio in the constitution chart.  With the ruler of the eleventh house in the twelfth house, we might find that we are our nation’s friends are friends out of compassion or as secret enemies.  We might find that much of the political process comes out of behind the scenes activity or a societal sense of helplessness.  With the ruler in Scorpio, we would be intensely private about what is behind our approach to eleventh house affairs.

Vulcan made one aspect of the very close aspects that I am using, a waxing square from Mars in the third house in Aquarius.  Squares are active aspects.  The waxing square of Mars to Vulcan might indicate that we would be struggling to build a foundation for leading in the electrical car industry with respect to intensely mathematizing our understanding.  Or that we are struggling to build a foundation for radically initiating ideas coming out of privately balancing our various understandings.

The Sibly Chart

The Sibly chart has twenty-nine degrees of Libra on the eleventh house cusp.  Since the time of the Sibly chart is not known exactly, I will delineate both Libra and Scorpio as on the cusp.  The house contains none of the points that I am using.

Libra or Scorpio on cusp

If twenty-nine degrees of Libra is on the cusp, then our approach to friendly nations, as well as our societal hopes and dreams, would be fair and harmonic, but in a perpetual state of crisis.  If Scorpio is on the cusp, then the approach would be intense, suspicious, emotional, and investigative.  The ruler I use for Libra, Vulcan, was in the second house in Aquarius in the Sibly chart.  The ruler of Scorpio, Pluto, was in the the second house in Capricorn.

Vulcan as ruler

Since the eleventh house does not contain any points (of those that I am using), the placement and aspects of the ruler of the house describe that which is going on in the house.  If the ruler is Vulcan, in the second house and Aquarius, that might indicate that the energy behind our friendships with other nations would come out of balancing radical values or electronic money.

Vulcan was making three aspects of the close aspects that I am using; a sesquiquadrate to Venus in the seventh house in Cancer, a square to Vesta in the fifth house in Taurus, and an inconjunct to Lilith in the ninth house in Virgo.  The aspects were delineated in the post on the second house.  Here, I will say that there would be energy and some insecurity behind our relations with friendly nations and our hopes and dreams.  And, since all of the points involved are points associated with women, women or issues affecting women would provide the impetus behind our eleventh house affairs.

Pluto as ruler

If Pluto, in the second house and Capricorn, rules the eleventh house, our approach to friendly nations and our hopes and dreams would, also, be based on our values and money.  But, the energy behind the approach would be practical and ambitious as opposed to being intellectual and egalitarian.

Pluto made three aspects of the close aspects that I am using.  Pluto was in a waning semisquare to the Sagittarius ascendant, a waxing sequiquadrate the Gemini descendent, and opposite the eighth house, Cancer Part of Fortune.  The aspects were covered in the post on the second house.  I will say here that professional delving and investigating into our values would add energy to our wild awareness and appearance and to our civil relations with our allies and open enemies.  At the same time, when it comes to our Part of Fortune, professional delving and investigating into our values might make us blind to the emotional approach to our joint resources that would make us happy.
