USA Chart Comparison: Conclusions

This is my last post on the USA chart  comparison.

What do we know about our country?

Turned Inward

I think we tend to be turned inward toward ourselves, except that we have often sent our armed forces to foreign lands to intervene in situations.  Being turned inward might indicate many points below the horizon, especially the Sun or Moon.  The constitution chart has the Sun and five other of the major points below the horizon.  The Sibly chart has the Moon and four other of the major points below the horizon.  Both charts show major energy focused internally, but the constitution chart more so.

Interfering in Foreign Situations in Reaction

Interfering in foreign situations as a reaction might indicate an energetic link between the seventh house and the ninth house or between Vulcan and Jupiter.  In the constitution chart, the Sun rules the ninth house and the ninth house only contains the Part of Fortune.  The Sun is in the fourth house, right on the Nadir and is square Chiron in the seventh house, making an energetic link between the seventh and ninth houses.  The seventh house is ruled by Venus in the third house and Mercury in the fourth house.  Neither Mercury nor Venus aspect the Sun.  The seventh house also contains the Moon and the South Node, both gut reaction points – supporting a gut level basis for making war.  Also, the Moon was approaching a square to the Sun and a conjunction to Chiron.  Vulcan is in the twelfth house in a loose trine to Jupiter in the eighth house, both being houses of things below the surface.

In the Sibly chart, the ninth house contains Neptune and the seventh house contains Mars , Venus, Jupiter, and the Sun.  Here, I am only looking at the twelve major points ruling the signs.  The one aspect between the points in the two houses was Mars square Neptune, an active aspect.  The ruler of the ninth house is the Sun, and the ruler of the sign intercepted in the ninth house is Chiron.  The ruler of the seventh house cusp is Mercury.  The Sun is in the seventh house, giving one seventh house / ninth house tie.  Chiron is in the fourth house and Mercury is in the eighth house.  Chiron and Mercury are in a square to each other, giving another active seventh house / ninth house contact.  Vulcan is in the second house and Jupiter is in seventh house.  Vulcan and Jupiter are sesquiquadrate to each other.  In the Sibly chart, there is a lot of energy connecting the foreign with war and peace.

Wars and Peace with Neighbors

Generally, we have been at peace with our neighbors, but we have had in our history wars with both Canada and Mexico.  We would expect something martial or of the nature of Vulcan tied to the third house.  In the constitution chart, Mars and Venus are in the third house, along with Pluto and Saturn, and the ruler of the house is Uranus in the eighth house.  Mars and Venus were both applying to a square with Vulcan, while Vulcan was applying to a trine with Uranus.  In the Sibly chart, the Moon is in the third house and Uranus, the ruler of the house, was in the sixth house.  Neptune, ruler of the intercepted Pisces in the third house, was in the ninth house.  The only aspect of the three points to Vulcan was Vulcan applying to an inconjunct to Neptune.  I would say that the constitution third house is more descriptive of our neighborly affairs, with both Mars and Venus in the house and Uranus in the controlling eighth house.

Artistic and Scientific Success Abroad before Domestic

Some of our most successful artists and scientists have not had success in this country until they were successful in foreign countries.  Artists are under the seventh house.  Science is under the ninth house, as are foreign countries.  Fame is under the tenth house.  Fame in a foreign country would involve the sixth house (Using the derivative house system, the sixth house is the tenth sign away from the ninth.). So we should see links between planets related to the seventh and ninth houses and the sixth house and tenth houses.

In the constitution chart, the sixth, ninth, and tenth houses do not contain any of the twelve major points.  The seventh house contains the Moon and Chiron.  Taurus is on both the sixth and seventh houses – so foreign fame is achieved before domestic artistic development – and is ruled by Venus in the third house, at least on the surface.  Gemini is intercepted in the seventh house and is ruled by Mercury in the fourth house.  Mercury was retrograde – which can indicate delays – and applying to a semisextile to Venus, ruler of the sixth and seventh houses, and in a square to Chiron, which rules the tenth house.  The ninth house has Leo on the cusp and is ruled by the Sun in the fourth house.  The Sun was approaching a square with Chiron which was ruling the tenth – linking the foreign with fame, and a conjunction with Mercury, ruling the intercepted Gemini in the seventh – linking the house of the scientist with the house of the artist.  The Moon, in the seventh house, was approaching a trine to Venus, squares to Mercury and the Sun, and a conjunction to Chiron – linking the four ruled houses.

The Sibly chart had Taurus on the sixth house, Gemini on the seventh house, Leo on the ninth house, Virgo intercepted in the ninth, and Libra on the tenth house.  Venus, the ruler of the sixth house, was in the seventh house.  The sixth house contained Uranus.  Mercury, the ruler of the seventh house, was in the eighth house.  The Sun, Mars, and Jupiter were also in the seventh house.  The ninth house contained Neptune and the ruler of the ninth house, the Sun, was in the seventh house.  Virgo, intercepted in the ninth, was ruled by Chiron in the fourth house.  The tenth house was ruled by Vulcan in the second house, and contained Saturn.

All of the Cancer points in the seventh house were applying to a square to Saturn in the tenth house, indicating fame for artists.  Mercury and Venus were applying to a conjunction with each other, linking the sixth and seventh houses.  The Cancer points were applying to a sextile to Neptune in the ninth house, also linking the seventh house and the ninth house.  Venus was applying to a sesquiquadrate to Vulcan, linking the rulers of the sixth and tenth houses.  Both the Sun and Mercury were applying to an inconjunct to Vulcan, linking the rulers of the seventh and ninth houses with the ruler of the tenth house in an aspect of edginess.

There is a lot more energy around the sixth, seventh, ninth, and tenth houses in the Sibly chart, especially the seventh house, indicating that artists would be emphasized in our society.  Both charts show links between the four houses.  For the constitution chart, we see foreign fame coming before becoming a domestic artist, which seems descriptive of what often happens for our artists.

Welching on Important International Agreements

When the rest of the world was ready to work together to solve international problems, twice that I know of we have welched on leadership, with our Senate refusing to ratify a treaty or agreement – I am thinking of the League of Nations and the Kyoto Protocol – and later we did act on the international problem.

The refusal to ratify the League of Nations or the Kyoto Protocol was done by the Senate.  In both cases, the president supported the ratification.  In both cases, the issue involved an agreement with foreign countries.  So, we should see agreement between the tenth house (the president) and the ninth house (foreign countries) and disagreement between both the tenth and ninth houses and the eleventh house (the Senate).

In the constitution chart, the ninth house is ruled by the Sun in the fourth house and contains none of the twelve ruling points.  The tenth house is ruled by Chiron in the seventh house and contains none of the twelve ruling points.  The eleventh house is ruled by Vulcan in the twelfth house and contains only Neptune of the twelve ruling points.

For the rulers, the Sun is applying to a close square to Chiron.  Although not in orb, the Sun is applying to a trine to Vulcan.  Again not in orb, Vulcan is applying to an inconjunct to Chiron.  Here I am only considering applying aspects, where the two points remain in the same sign until the aspect is complete – as is done in horary astrology.  For Neptune, the Sun is not in orb of an aspect to Neptune, but is applying to an inconjunct to Neptune.  Chiron is applying to an in orb trine to Neptune.  Here, I am using an orb of eight degrees. Neptune is the only one of the four points that is retrograde.

So we see a more complex structure that agreement between the ninth and tenth houses and struggle for both with the eleventh house.  Instead, there is struggle leading to achievement between the president and foreign countries.  Between foreign countries and the senate, the is a mix of ease and an inability to see each other, with both aspects not being in orb.  With Neptune retrograde and the aspects not being in orb, one would expect delays in relations between the two.  Between the president and the senate, again there is a mix of ease and not being able to see each other.  With the large orb for the trine between Chiron and Neptune, with the out of orb inconjunct with Chiron and Vulcan, and with Neptune being retrograde, we would expect delays for the implementation by the senate of what was worked out between the president and foreign powers.

For the Sibly chart, the ninth house is ruled by the Sun, in the seventh house, and contains Neptune.  Virgo, intercepted in the ninth house, is ruled by Chiron in the fourth house.  The tenth and eleventh houses are ruled by Vulcan, in the second house.  The tenth house contains Saturn.  The eleventh house contains none of the twelve ruling points.  Most of the eleventh house is covered by Scorpio.  If the time for the birth of our nation is a little later what I am using, Scorpio would be on the eleventh house cusp and the eleventh house would be ruled by Pluto, in the second house.

I start with the ruling points.  The Sun was applying to an out of orb inconjunct with Vulcan and Vulcan was applying to an in orb sextile with Chiron, so there are links between the ninth, tenth houses, and, if Libra is on the eleventh house cusp, the eleventh house.  Here, I am using an orb of four degrees for the inconjunct and six for the sextile.

The Sun was applying to an out of orb opposition to Pluto, linking the ninth and eleventh houses if Scorpio is on the eleventh house cusp.  But, for Chiron, the in orb square with Pluto was not exact until after Pluto made its first ingress into Aquarius, so there was no applying aspect between the rulers of Virgo and Scorpio.  The orb for the opposition and square was eight degrees.  Between Vulcan and Pluto, there was no aspect, since I am not using the semisextile, so the is not a link between the rulers of the tenth and eleventh houses if Scorpio is on the eleventh house cusp.

For Neptune, Vulcan was in an in orb applying inconjunct to Neptune and Neptune was in an in orb applying trine to Pluto, linking the ninth house with the tenth and eleventh houses.  For Saturn, the Sun was applying to an in orb square with Saturn, Saturn was applying to an in orb opposition with Chiron, Vulcan was in an applying trine to Saturn, and Saturn was in an in orb applying square to Pluto, again linking the ninth, tenth, and eleventh houses.  Saturn and Neptune were not in an applying aspect to each other. Of the Sun, Chiron, Pluto, Neptune, and Saturn, only Pluto was retrograde, so there is not a strong signature for delays, except some if Scorpio is on the eleventh house.

Between foreign powers (ninth house) and the president (tenth house), there is a mix of two inconjuncts and a sextile – that is not being able to see each other along with an ability to communicate.  For foreign powers and the senate (eleventh house), there is a mix of a sextile, opposition, and trine.  So there would be an ability to communicate, some conflict, and some ease.  If Libra is on the eleventh house cusp, we again have two inconjuncts and a sextile.  If Pluto rules the house, the aspects are an opposition and a trine – conflict (or negotiation) and ease.

For the president and the senate, they are both ruled by the same sign if Libra is on the cusp; and Vulcan is applying to a square to Saturn.  If Scorpio is on the cusp, the only relevant aspect is a square between Saturn and Pluto.  In either case, there is struggle between the president and the senate.

With Pluto retrograde, if Scorpio was on the eleventh house cusp, there would be delays in senate action.  There is a pretty even mix of in orb and out of orb aspects to Pluto.  If Libra was on the cusp, the president would have to act before the senate would.  There is one out of orb aspect and three in orb aspects to Vulcan.  There is not a strong signature for delays if Libra is on the eleventh house cusp.

Sneak Attacks

We have been the recipients of sneak attacks twice that I know of – Pearl Harbor and 9/11.  Here we would look for relations between the twelfth house (behind the scenes or hidden activities) and the seventh house (war and peace) or between Neptune (dissimulating) and Vulcan (making war and peace).

In the constitution chart, the twelfth house has Scorpio on the cusp (which is also on the first house cusp) and contains Vulcan.  Pluto was in the third house.  The seventh house has Taurus on the cusp and contains the Moon and Chiron.  Venus was in the third house, too.

Looking at the house rulers first, Pluto and Venus are not in an applying aspect, so the rulers of a sneak attack and war and peace are not related.  However, the Moon was applying to a trine to both Pluto and Venus, connecting the two.

Other aspects were the Moon applying to an inconjunct with Vulcan in the twelfth, Venus applying to a square with Vulcan, and Chiron applying to a trine with Pluto.  The high number of trines is interesting.  I think we might tend to be complacent with regard to the possibility of sneak attack.

Vulcan was not in an aspect with Neptune.  Vulcan in the twelfth house would indicate that making war and peace could be the result of the actions of secret enemies – sneak attacks.  Venus, ruling the house of war and peace, was in a square (struggle) to Vulcan (making war and peace) and a trine (ease) to Neptune (being deceived).

The Sibly chart has Scorpio on the twelfth house cusp, with Pluto in the second house.  There are none of the twelve ruling points in the twelfth house.  Gemini is on the seventh house cusp and Mercury is in the eighth house.  The seventh house contains the Sun, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter.  Vulcan was in the second house and Neptune was in the ninth house.

First, looking at the rulers, Mercury, ruler of the house of war and peace, was applying to an opposition to Pluto, ruler of the house of treachery.  Looking at the points in the seventh house, the Sun and Venus were also applying to an opposition to Pluto.  Jupiter does not apply to an aspect with Pluto until after Pluto leaves Cancer for Leo, even though Pluto retrogrades back into Cancer for the aspect.  Mars is applying to an inconjunct with Pluto.  Looking at Vulcan and Neptune, Vulcan is applying to an inconjunct with Neptune.

So, there is a lot of energy connecting war and peace with treachery in the Sibly chart.  However, the energy was all oppositions and inconjuncts.  Both aspects tend to be aware of others.  The opposition can represent conflict or reflection.  Both aspects tend toward separations in personal charts.

Polarization

We have often been highly polarized as a nation – from our very beginning, and we almost always have had a de facto two party system rather than the higher number of parties in many other democracies.  I would expect to see major oppositions in the chart, particularly affecting the houses and points related to politics – the fourth, tenth, and eleventh houses and the Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn.

In the constitution chart, there is just one (out of orb) applying opposition, from Uranus in the eighth house to Pluto in the third house.  Pluto rules the twelfth and first houses.  Uranus rules the third house.  None of the points or houses I considered political were involved in oppositions.

In the Sibly chart, there are four applying oppositions – the Sun, Mercury, and Venus opposite Pluto and Saturn opposite Chiron.  The Sun was in the seventh house and rules the ninth house.  Mercury was in the eighth house and rules the seventh house.  Venus was in the seventh house and rules the sixth house.  Pluto was in the second house and rules the twelfth, and possibly the eleventh, house.  Saturn was in the tenth house and rules the second house.  Chiron was in the fourth house and rules the intercepted Virgo in the ninth house.  The only point that I considered political in an opposition was Saturn.  The political houses involved in an opposition are the tenth, and possibly, the eleventh.

Nation of Immigrants

Most Americans come from heritages that are not native to the Americas.  The American people are under the fourth house.

In the constitution chart, the fourth house contains the Sun and Mercury and is ruled by Neptune in the eleventh house.  The Sun rules the ninth house and Mercury rules Gemini, intercepted in the seventh house.  With the Sun in the fourth house, ruling the ninth house, we would be centered in leading in our dealings with foreigners.

In the Sibly chart, Chiron is in the fourth house and the house is ruled by Mars in the seventh house.  Chiron rules the Virgo, intercepted in the ninth house.  Chiron in the fourth house and ruling a sign intercepted in the ninth house would indicate we are a people working hard, which would affect our dealings with foreigners.

Like of Cars and Communications

We like our cars and our ways of communication.  Cars and communications are found in the third house of a chart.

The constitution chart has Venus, Mars, Saturn, and Pluto in the third house and Aquarius, ruled by Uranus in the eighth house, on the cusp.  So we would take pleasure in, compete with, build businesses around, and deeply desire our cars and communications.  With the ruler of the house in the eighth house, our cars and communications would come out of radicalising our joint resources.

The Sibly chart has the Moon in the third house; the third house has Aquarius on the cusp, ruled by Uranus in the sixth house; and Pisces, ruled by Neptune in the ninth house, is intercepted in the third house.  The Moon is one of the three strongest points in a chart, indicating that cars and communication would be important to us.  We would protect and emote about our cars and communications.  With the ruler of the third house in the sixth house, our cars and communications would come out of radicalising Continue reading
